I’m writing to ask a small favor. As you know, I work for Clearspring, a very cool company that you all know is focused on building technologies for widgets. We have an opportunity to explain to the world what widgets are and why they should care. The opportunity is to lead three separate panels at the South by Southwest Interactive Festival (SXSW) in Austin, Texas, in March of 2009. SXSW has become one of the premier conferences for the Web 2.0 industry and is a perfect opportunity for us to tell a lot of people about the role of widgets in social media. Here’s the thing: panels at SXSW are chosen, in part, by online voters. Which is where you come in. I’d like to ask you to take a few minutes before August 29th to go online to the SXSW panel picker and vote for one or all of our panels.
Clearspring submitted three panels for SXSW 2009. “True Life: I’m a Successful Widget,” will explore how a mainstream brand was able to infiltrate the social networks with their widget; “How Sharing is Reshaping the Web” describes the role of the widget as the social aggregator; and “How I Got Paid for Getting Grabbed” describes how folks are monetizing widgets.
We’d love the chance to educate the SXSW audience about widgets.
You will have to reigster in order to vote, but please know that it is greatly appreciated! Thank in you advance for your help!
